Improve reading skill
My conversations with students and teachers revealed that many do not read newspapers. And therefore, they are lacking in overall knowledge (Helping teens build critical reading skills with newspapers, November 16).
Every day, teachers across the state count on the Newspapers in Education Program to be their main source of reading, writing. And thinking skills that will help their students improve. Why Students Need to Read Newspapers, Reading newspapers provides broad-based benefits to all. In general, But particularly for students, it remains the most valuable source of news and information, despite the onslaught of electronic media. Reading newspapers is a healthy activity for students. Because they are the best source to ensure good reading skills. Also helping students to be active learners.
Reading does not just help to enhance the reading skills, it helps students with writing skills too since they get to know the new vocabulary and the different styles of writing. Students learn how to quickly read to get the information they want, a crucial classroom skill.
Students are uninterested in the news and are lazy. They have to read the news, which helps him with his studies, giving knowledge on all things. A great deal of information covering current affairs, politics, science & technology, education, health, medicine, sports, industry & markets, can be obtained from any place anytime during the day via newspapers.
Reading newspapers automatically improves one’s language skills. News items and articles are written by learned and intelligent people. They know how to use language as an efficient tool for expression and communication. Precision and meticulous use of words and expressions comes naturally to them. One can imbibe these qualities easily by paying attention to language and style while going through news items and articles in a newspaper.
Build vocabulary
Reading newspapers is a different feeling than reading news online or watching the news. Just like reading a physical book, for some people, it feels better. The newspaper can be a more reliable source than most social media articles but is not more reliable than doing your own research on any given story. Newspapers might give better access to local news or your school’s news. There is a lot to consume online website but local physical newspapers are a little more specific and can offer more relevant information. This also can be a good way to find fun local activities. Well, it depends on what you can reasonably expect from students. Do you want them to keep on current events? Is that their responsibility? Should it be? Maybe it should.
Maybe they should instead, though, focus on their school studies: Be where you are. Focus on the here and now. Don’t borrow trouble spending all your time, money, and effort working to solve every problem in the world. If a student becomes a good doctor or banker or teacher or scientist, that would seem appropriate and wise, which would also help make the world a better place. Baby steps, baby steps get you there. Its not important to group the contents of a newspaper before reading it. I guess each and every part derives some information regarding to our nation and related territories. So I won’t do justice if say that a particular part of the newspaper lays better knowledge. Also current affairs play a foundational role if a student prepares for any govt. Exam.
Conclusion
Newspaper as name suggest brings to me news from across the world. Current events from the field of politics, business, sports, technology, also news from entertainment. I also get to read the view of the editors of leading newspapers on certain aspects which need their expert view. I therefore in about 45 min travel the world. And come to know what is happening and also some times why is it happening. Although, its a one way traffic. They provide/ feed us the news. First and foremost all the students do not have an access to personal computers and the internet, but the newspapers reach everyone.
