No matter what we do, we need money.
When we were young, asking for pocket money from parents in order to hang out with friends made sense.
The thing is you can still ask your parents or your god friends who can lend you money.
Chances are you have already taken money from them. It is because borrowing from close ones is a normal and natural thing. You don’t always need to maintain formalities or decorum if you want just to get some cash.
And your loved ones? Well, they know what you need when you are frank with them. When you need to ask for money, it is good to ask for money. Got the idea?)
…you might not always have to do that. It is because you are earning. You have access to many interesting services in society now. This can help save your dearest ones from the financial anxieties you are going through.
And yes, you are suffering the most. I get that.
You can discuss your problems with your family members about the problem. Please be frank in opening up. Please tell your problems to your family, friends, a therapist, or anybody to let them off the chest.
For the money part, there are other ways. Maybe the people you want money from can give you a better reward than money itself.
And that is an idea as a solution.
I am not asking you to stop yourself from taking out money from your ones. If need be, you should do that. But not doing that also comes with certain perks.
We are now going to discuss that.
Why You May Not Want to Borrow Money from Family Members
It is not that the borrowing only happens in descending order, such as parents lending money to their children. It can go the opposite direction too.
This is where we can turn to other services. For instance, a parent who needs money can choose a loan for single parents instead of asking for money from their kids.
If you are a professional but you have lost your job, then you can also go for a freelancing project and start working from home instead of asking for money from your parents. Some unemployed people can get benefits from the government. Or, like the solution I have just mentioned, take out a simple personal loan for the unemployed.
But why would you not still ask family or friends for money?
Well, the answers are written below:
1. You Might Not Know Financial Problems of Your Family Members
Do you actually know if your parents or children or your in-laws are suffering some issues themselves?
Think about it.
People are emotional. You can go t your granddad for money to buy the new console. And chances are he is going to give you that. But if you consider the conditions and circumstances he is in, then you might find he needs a panic alarm system more than your console.
These are the real-life situations we don’t think about. That’s perfectly fine, though. The rat race of 9 to 5 and utility bills and costs for medication makes us a mess.
A thing is a person. Who you approach for money is probably in this mess right now.
It will worsen their situation. If you get rejected assistance from them, then you might feel even worse than what he or she is feeling. You go on to the next family member, and you can face the same issue.
Instead, you can look for a service.
2. It Might Affect Your Relationship
Let’s just say you require money and you got in touch with your neighbour or a relative for that.
Now, at that particular time, the neighbour or the relative can suffer from personal problems themselves. Yes, they might agree to lend you money. But it is not going to do any good to them instead.
I am not saying that you have to be purposeful in what you do. But if your borrowing does not help your family members at all, then your relationship can get affected to some extent.
This reaction might happen from your side too.
Let’s say you spoke with your parents and then with your in-laws and your friend for borrowing a thousand pounds. However, for specific issues, they all rejected your appeal. In that way, they are telling the truth to you, and they won’t feel good about it the next time you both interact either on a personal or a social level.
Even if you get money for the first time, they might not do the same the next time, right?
It is better to stay out of such deals and to enjoy relationships the way they are.
3. You Can Get Annoyed with Money Issues Because You Lose Time
Think of it from this perspective. If you have lost a job and are unemployed at the present moment, then you do need some quick money in your bank account or in hand so that you can pay utility bills and take care of emergency or urgent expenses.
Chances are you can get a few hundred pounds from some of your buddies and your family. But this may not be the reality for all unemployed people, right?
The worst-case scenarios in this are two in number:
- You ask your family members, and they cannot offer you the money for personal causes. What if you face it with more than one family member? You need to invest time in informing them, telling your situation, and then asking for help. You lose time if you constantly get denied money with more than one person.
- What if someone agreed to give you the money? But you’re notified that you will receive the money about 15 days later. That’s two weeks, and you might need to get cash within a day.
You see it is troublesome to get money in these ways. Rather go for a guaranteed unemployed loan in the UK. If you find a direct lender service, then you might get the money funded to your bank account within a day. You can try repaying the money back using the salary of your next job. Consider a payday loan if you can repay within a month.
4. It Doesn’t Contribute to Your Family Members
Your family members are important parts of your life.
Now, imagine this. When you take out money from them, you would naturally give them back the money without interest.
They have no advantages in offering you the money creating a financial depression in part of their savings.
As mentioned earlier, not getting any benefits can make them avoid lending you in the future.
We don’t have to say anything in this regard. It’s human nature.
From benefits to insurance programs to loans and many others, you can always get a service these days to cover your back.
Although that sounds a little too partial for them, you can think of it in this way: Don’t you think insurance or loans are helping you keep a good relationship with your family?
You know the answer. So, I am not writing it down.
All I can say is that family is the most important part and asset of our lives. Keep them well.
