5)Shankaracharya Temple:
Shankaracharya Sanctuary Situated on the Shankaracharya slope, this sanctuary is situated on an extremely high slope so that you can see it from anywhere in the Dal Lake, and this sanctuary was built twenty centuries ago by King Gopaditya in about 372 BC.
About 1100 feet above sea level, this sanctuary is dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Shiva. Earlier the name of this sanctuary was Gopdari and then Adi Guru Shankaracharya was at this place during his visit to Kashmir, hence its name was changed to Shankaracharya Mandir.
