Copper: Where to Find It:
Construction sites are great for finding copper. Many homes use copper. Look for copper in building site garbage. Copper wire abounds. Fittings, valves, and other hardware include copper. Many home equipment contains trace amounts of copper.
Copper should be gathered into a large mound until a trip to the recycling centre. Gas costs more with multiple trips. Driving more increases air pollution.
Recycling Copper:
Everyone knows to separate materials before recycling. You must also segregate copper types. Copper is not all the same. Here’s how to separate copper.
Copper #1:
Best-condition copper is the most expensive. It lacks insulation, oxidation, and oil. Many individuals remove copper’s insulation. If you don’t strip the wires, separate them into another pile.
Copper #2:
This is #2 copper. It may be flawed, making it harder to clean and recycle. #2 copper is oily or residue-covered pipes. This copper will be cheaper.
Copper #3 (Roofing):
Roofs take a hammering. Even during installation, tar and paint may be left on the copper roofing material. Dirt and filth will also land on the roof.
Copper Wiring:
It goes in this final, cheapest category if you don’t know how to strip copper wiring’s insulation (or don’t want to). Avoid stripping wires smaller than your pinky.

How Copper Gets Used Again:
