Are you interested in improving your accounting and financial consulting skills? Becoming a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor has many advantages, including more future clients and increased credibility. Not only that, but by spending plenty of time with the software, you can develop your business for free with your ProAdvisor Certification.
The steps to becoming a QuickBooks ProAdvisor are not rocket science. All you have to do is participate in the Intuit QuickBooks training, and once you have finished, you’re set to take the certification exam. So how exactly do you get started? Let’s take a simple tour.
First, what is QuickBooks?
QuickBooks offers an array of accounting and bookkeeping solutions for small businesses. It features multiple applications for various financial purposes, including payroll, time, and commerce. All QuickBooks applications can integrate seamlessly with one another to create a versatile accounting and payments system for small to medium-sized establishments.
What is a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor?
A QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor is a professional who has completed and was certified by Intuit. These individuals help businesses choose the right software version for their business, lend a hand in properly setting up QuickBooks, importing and creating company files, and completing the chart of accounts.
How do I become a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor?
You don’t need to devote much to becoming an Online ProAdvisor. You can complete the training program in as short as two weeks by following these steps:
Sign Up for the QuickBooks Online Accountant Program
Before anything else, you must first create a profile on the QuickBooks Online Accountant Program. This process is entirely free to register. After filling in the necessary information on the Sign-Up page, you may begin your training.
Undergo Training and Practice for the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification
After creating your profile, you are given free access to all study guides, materials, and webinars (live or recorded). There are also free courses for all of QuickBooks’ products and several preparation materials for the certification exam.
A pro tip – if you are new to QuickBooks, we advise you to start with the Introduction to QuickBooks for Accountants and the QuickBooks Online courses.
Take the Certification Exam
Once you have completed your courses, you can access the QuickBooks certification exams list in the Certification tab under the ProAdvisor’s Training menu. Remember, you need to accomplish the first examination you chose before moving to another. You should score 80% or higher to pass and get officially certified.
The certification exam is free, and you can take as many as you need to pass. But do note that after failing on your first three attempts, you will be locked out for 60 days. Once the period is up, you can retake the exam.
To pass the examinations, you will need a complete understanding of the fundamental accounting principles and familiarity with the QuickBooks Online Accountant system. While plenty of sources are available, it is still best to have someone guide you on becoming a ProAdvisor. Allow our consultant from COA Consulting Services to help you better understand the rudiments of QuickBooks.
